Find your paddle in five questions.

The paddle that suits you is rarely the one your friend plays. Tell us what is not working and we will point you at two worth trying.

01 What bothers you most about your current paddle?
02 Where do you win your points?
03 How long have you played?
04 Which mistake costs you the most points?
05 How do you hit your backhand?

Three easy steps.

01Pick

Pick your paddles

Browse the fleet and choose one or two. Availability updates live from our shelf, so a paddle you can select is a paddle we have. Anything out shows its return date.

02Pay

Pay the rental fee

Pay $45 for one paddle or $70 for two, and sign the rental agreement in the checkout box. The refundable deposit is not charged now — we place it on your card the morning of your drop, and it is released when the paddles come back.

03Play

Play for seven days

Sunday drop-off, Saturday pickup. Return both paddles in the condition they arrived and we release the deposit hold the same day — usually back in your account within three to five business days.

The fleet

Seven paddles, ready to drop.

Every demo is $45 for one paddle, $70 for two. On drop day we also place a refundable hold on your card for the paddle's retail price plus GST — it is released when the paddles come back.

Paddle and Pay

One paddle, or two — no membership, no monthly fee. Pick your paddles above, pay your rental fee and refundable deposit, play your games. We drive and drop to you.

Next drop · Sunday, Aug 16

Your details, then pay

Tell us where the drop goes and pick your Sunday. At checkout you pay the rental fee and your card stays on file — the refundable hold is placed on drop morning, so it covers the whole week you have the paddle.

No paddles picked yet — choose one or two from the fleet above.
Drops land between 11am and 2pm that Sunday at the address you give us. Please be there to receive it — we go over the paddle's condition together. Pickup is the following Saturday in the same window — same address unless you tell us otherwise below — and we check it over again with you.
Rental agreement v2026.08b
Rental period & booking
  • The standard rental period runs Sunday to Saturday.
  • I agree to return the paddle by Saturday at 2:00 p.m. unless another return time is confirmed in writing.
  • My booking is not confirmed until Drop Shot Paddlehaus receives this agreement and the rental payment.
  • Drop Shot Paddlehaus will normally wait no more than 15 minutes for a scheduled handoff.
  • If the deposit authorization is declined on the drop day, the paddle will not be delivered until a working payment method is provided.
Care & use
  • I will use the paddle only for normal pickleball play.
  • I will take reasonable care of the paddle and protect it from loss, theft, water, excessive heat, extreme cold, throwing, scraping, and avoidable damage.
  • I will not permanently alter, sell, lend, transfer, or sub-rent the paddle.
  • I will promptly report damage, loss, theft, cracking, loose components, unusual sounds, or possible defects.
  • I will stop using the paddle if continued use may worsen damage or create a safety concern.
Wear, cleaning & damage
  • Ordinary ball marks, light dirt, normal grip use, and minor superficial wear from normal play are not normally charged.
  • Excessive dirt, mud, sticky residue, or unauthorized adhesive may result in a $15 cleaning fee.
  • A deliberately removed or unusually damaged overgrip may result in a $5 charge.
  • I agree to pay the actual replacement cost of a missing paddle cover or other included accessory.
  • I agree to pay reasonable repair, replacement, or documented loss-in-value costs for damage beyond normal wear while the paddle is in my possession or control.
  • If the paddle is lost, stolen, not returned, destroyed, or damaged beyond economical repair, I agree to pay its current retail replacement value, including applicable taxes.
  • Drop Shot Paddlehaus may inspect and photograph the paddle before release and after return.
Late returns
  • A late fee of $10 per paddle per calendar day applies after the return deadline or approved grace period.
  • A paddle not returned within 72 hours of the deadline may be treated as lost or non-returned.
  • An extension is permitted only if approved and paid before the original return deadline.
Cancellations
  • Cancellation more than 48 hours before the rental begins qualifies for a full rental-fee refund.
  • Cancellation between 24 and 48 hours before the rental begins qualifies for either a 50% refund or full business credit valid for six months.
  • Cancellation less than 24 hours before the rental begins does not qualify for a rental-fee refund.
  • If Drop Shot Paddlehaus cannot provide the confirmed paddle, I may choose a full refund or an available alternative acceptable to me.
Deposit, capture & disputes
  • The deposit is an authorization (a hold) on my card, not a charge. It is placed on the day the paddle is delivered, not on the day I book.
  • The rental fee is charged when I book. The deposit is only ever charged, in whole or in part, for damage, loss, or late return assessed under this agreement.
  • The hold is released when the paddle is returned and inspected, and in every case no later than the seventh day after delivery, when the authorization expires on its own.
  • If approved charges exceed the authorized amount, I remain responsible for the outstanding balance.
  • I may dispute a proposed damage charge in writing within three business days of receiving notice.

What we collect
  • Your name, email, phone number and delivery address — we cannot drop a paddle without them. If you give a different pickup address, that too.
  • Your city or neighbourhood, so we can confirm you are inside our delivery area.
  • Your chosen drop Sunday and which paddles you selected.
  • Optionally, your DUPR rating and current paddle. These help us recommend better and are never required.
  • Your typed signature, the version of the rental agreement you accepted, and the date and time you accepted it.
  • The IP address and browser your agreement was signed from. This is evidence that the agreement was signed, and nothing else.
What we never collect
  • Your card number, expiry, or security code. Payment happens entirely on Stripe’s own pages. Card details never reach this website, and we could not see them if we wanted to.
  • We do not use advertising trackers, analytics profiling, or third-party cookies.
Why we collect it
  • To deliver and collect a paddle at the right address on the right day.
  • To take the rental fee and place the refundable deposit hold, and to release or capture it correctly.
  • To contact you about your rental — confirmation, reminders, return, and any damage.
  • To know which paddle is with whom, so we do not double-book it.
  • To keep accounting records and to resolve disputes if one arises.
Who else touches it
  • Stripe — processes payments and holds the deposit authorization. Stripe receives your name and email. Stripe, not us, holds your card details.
  • Google (Sheets and Gmail) — your booking is recorded in a private Google Sheet, and we are notified by email.
  • Netlify — hosts this website and runs the code that talks to Stripe and to the sheet.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone, for any price.
  • These providers store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, and are subject to the laws of those countries.
How long we keep it
  • Booking records — up to 7 years. Signed rental agreements, deposit records and payment history are business records. Canada Revenue Agency guidance expects records supporting a transaction to be kept six years from the end of the relevant tax year; we keep seven for safety.
  • Waitlist emails — 12 months, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
  • You can ask us to delete your contact details sooner. We will, unless a specific record is still needed for an unresolved dispute, an open deposit, or a tax obligation — in which case we will tell you which one and when it expires.
Marketing
  • We only email you about your own rental unless you tick the optional box asking for updates about new paddles.
  • That box is never pre-ticked, and leaving it unticked has no effect on your booking.
  • Every update email has a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing does not stop rental emails, which we have to send.
Your rights
  • You can ask what we hold about you, and we will send it to you.
  • You can ask us to correct anything wrong.
  • You can ask us to delete it, subject to the retention limits above.
  • You can withdraw consent for contact at any time, though we cannot complete a rental without being able to reach you.
  • Email dropshotpaddlehaus@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days, as Canadian law requires.
How it is protected
  • This site is served over HTTPS, so what you type is encrypted in transit.
  • Our payment keys and the credentials for the booking sheet are stored as server-side secrets, never in the webpage.
  • Prices and deposit amounts are calculated on our server, not in your browser, so they cannot be tampered with.
  • The booking sheet is private to our Google account and is not shared publicly.
  • No system is perfect. If a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would tell you and report it, as Canadian law requires.
Children
  • This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian must make the booking.
Changes and contact
  • If this policy changes materially we will update the version above and, where it affects an active rental, tell you directly.
  • Questions, requests, or complaints: dropshotpaddlehaus@gmail.com.
  • If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant, 256-bit encrypted checkout — we never see or store them.

Why demo first

Two dinks in a store won't tell you if it's yours.

A premium paddle is a $300 commitment for something you can't judge in five minutes. Seven days of games is the only honest test.

Questions

The fine print, in plain words.

How does the 7-day demo work?
Book online and pick your paddles. We bring them to your address anywhere in Edmonton and area on Sunday and hand them over in person, checking the condition together. Play Sunday through to Saturday, then we collect them the same way.
What's the deposit about?
It's a refundable hold equal to that paddle's retail price plus GST — between $208.95 and $439.95. We place it on your card the morning we drop the paddle off, not when you book, so it lasts the whole week you have it. It's a hold, not a charge, and it's released once the paddle comes back in good shape.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to Edmonton, Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St. Albert, Leduc, and Beaumont. Most drops happen right at your home court — whatever is easiest for you.
What are the delivery and pickup times?
Sunday delivery and Saturday pickup both run 11am–2pm. Please be there for both — we look the paddle over with you at handover and again at pickup, so there is never a question about its condition.
Can I demo more than one paddle?
Yes — two paddles for $70, or a single for $45. It's the best way to compare two contenders head to head in the same week.
Can I keep the paddle for a 2nd week?
Reach out and ask — second weeks are subject to availability.
Do you sell paddles too?
Coming soon..... but for now we're a demo service only. A week with the paddle just helps you invest in the right one, wherever you end up buying it.
Do I need to be an advanced player?
Not at all. If you're past the loaner-paddle stage and shopping for your own, a demo saves you from an expensive guess.
Who we are

About us

Two players. One shared weakness. A frankly embarrassing number of paddles bought because the internet said so. We know the sting of unboxing $300 of carbon fibre and knowing by the second game that it isn't the one. So now we hand you the paddle for a week — same discovery, none of our receipts.
